She has a large collection of antiques is sourced from auctions, estate sales and even storage units. After earning a photojournalism degree she started her professional career with the renowned Architectural Digest magazine under its creator Paige Rense and eventually went into her own segment titled Mary Finds'. The magazine featured videos of decorating and refinishing homes. Mary then opened her own company located in Texas with the same name as her former company, focusing on antiques and furniture restoration. A&E Television producer spotted her running an antiques shop and offered her the chance to star in Texas Storage Wars. The show ran over three years. As a result of her fame, she was cast as the first character of Storage Wars in its fifth season. Storage Wars was a part of her daily life through the following seasons, and she has been on and off the reality series up to the 12th season.
